Summary of Latest Scopus Enhancements The following improvements and enhancements have been made to Scopus, the world’s largest abstract and citation database of research literature and quality web sources, on August 19th. Librarians can now highlight and display web results most relevant to their Scopus users in a separate tab in Scopus by picking and choosing from the list of Scirus Selected Sources, including their own. 2. Easing the search for Source Title name variations Scopus now captures different variations of a source title in one title search, ensuring more accurate search results. 3. Improvements to export features in Scopus Users can now perform all of the export functions on Scopus such as Email, Print, Export and creating a Bibliography, from a single page using the new "Output" button. Users can select documents for Output by type, format and quantity. 4. Find more “Related Documents” from an Abstract Users can now find ‘related documents’ to an article directly from every Abstract + Refs page on Scopus. The Abstract + Refs page can now be viewed as a “jump off” platform for more relevant results. 5. Increasing the visibility of the Citation tracker In response to customer feedback, we are increasing the visibility of the Citation tracker in Scopus. Your users can now generate a citation overview directly from the results page. 6. Improvements to Web and Patent Search Results Improvements have been made to “Refine Results” for Web and Patent searches with the addition of refinement options. Users can now quickly narrow their search and manage the results list. 7. Access to RefWorks from Athens ID A new Scopus feature allows Athens authenticated users’ seamless login to RefWorks. A new feature in Scopus, Selected Sources, allows for the display of customized search results from Scirus institutional resources (derived from Institutional Repositories and Digital Archives) and special subject collections within the Scopus interface. The Selected Sources tab can be set up at both the Account and Group level. In addition, the Selected Sources tab name is customizable. For help setting up the Selected Sources tab, librarians should contact their local e-Helpdesk. To consider having your institutional repository indexed by Scirus and available to display on the Selected Sources tab, please speak with your Account Manager.
A. Librarians choose the sources that will be displayed and the name of the Selected Sources tab. The Selected Sources tab will only be displayed if it is activated by Librarians. Please note the “Combined Results” tab will be removed from the Scopus interface. The Selected Sources in the example above shows a search result from T-Space, the University of Toronto’s repository. B. The Selected Sources results are brought to users via Scirus, the world’s largest scientific internet search engine. 2. Easing the search for Source Title name variations Variations of a title have now been grouped together under a standard name ensuring more accurate search results. The standard for a source title will be selected by the frequency of use. The title name most used in the records will be selected as the standard.
3. Improvements to Export features in Scopus The new “Output” button allows users to select their desired export information type, format and quantity all from one screen. Individual print, export and e-mail buttons have been replaced with a single Output button.
4. Find more “Related Documents” from an Abstract From the Abstract + Refs page users can now find documents in Scopus or on the Web that share similar keywords, references or authors to the record they are viewing.

C. Patent Offices 7. Seamless login to RefWorks for Athens Authenticated users Scopus now allows Athens users the option to use their Athens Authentication account to access RefWorks. Athens users can indicate whether they want to use their Athens account to access RefWorks or their RefWorks settings.
